Built by a parent who said no to ChatGPT
I run a jewelry business in Dubai. I have been in the industry for 20 years. I am not from tech. But when my kids asked to use ChatGPT for homework, I knew I had to build something better.
How it started
The ask
Two kids asked to use ChatGPT for homework. As a parent, that was a hard no.
The build
Already learning to code with AI tools. Built the first version in three days — simple interface, Socratic method, no direct answers.
The proof
One of the kids scored 2 extra marks in French. Not because of answers — because Bachu taught him to think through the problem.
The mission
If it worked for my kids, it could work for others. Bachu became a product.
Why not just use ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is incredible. But it was built for adults. It gives direct answers, has no parent oversight, and will talk to kids about anything they ask.
I wanted something different — an AI that teaches through questions, not answers. One that I could monitor as a parent. One that keeps my kids focused on learning and makes it fun with streaks, badges, and missions.
I taught myself to code with AI tools over the past year and built the first version in three days. It was rough. But my kids used it, and it worked. One of them scored 2 extra marks in French — not because Bachu gave him the answer, but because it helped him think through the problem himself.
That is the moment I knew this needed to exist for other families too.
